A database is a computer program (software) that stores and manages data. It allows you to be able to sort through data quickly and view it in different ways.
Databases come in different types. Flatfile databases (not the most efficient) and relational being the most common. Databases consist of one or more table into which data is added. Tables can be linked to make your database more efficient.
Usually databases come with different views, table view (which looks a bit like an spreadsheet) and form view (which shows you one or multiple records at a time).
There are different things to consider when creating your database.
FourThinking can help you to understand all these issues and help you to construct your database so that is works in the most efficient way. We can also help you construct a large database and teach you how to develop this yourself
